Hi Steve, unfortunately when the Government came in they cut all funding for energy saving measures including the Green Deal which was basically a mechanism in which finance would be offered based on the energy savings. If you are looking at getting solid wall insulation you really have no choice but to pay for it. Out of all the energy saving measures solid wall insulation is the one that is going to save you the most money without a date, since it makes the biggest difference to the energy rating. Having said that if you swap out a very very old boiler you might see similar energy gains. Make sure you get it installed by a reputable company and make sure you go and see a few properties that have had this installed since it really does change the appearance of the property. If done well it can enhance, but if down badly then unfortunately it can really impact sell on price, so my advice is to do your research before you crack on!
