Our services are provided by and maintained by us for to provide you with information about energy technologies for use in the home or business, and our blogs are there to inform you about our views on the best ways to save money and be more environmentally sustainable.
The services offered by us include content, blogs, company news, a local installer map, an energy saving forum, free comment sections and service forms.
By using these services, you may need to download content and/or agree to additional terms. If this is the case, we will make this explicitly clear in the additional terms supplied.
Website use rules, which set out our approach to page and forum interaction and how we moderate your content, such as comments made in relation to our articles, and comments made on the forum pages.
Accessing our website
Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period – for maintenance or other operational reasons.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or authority of your content. We reserve the right to remove your content, at any time and for any reason, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.

Data capture for recommendation services
On certain technology or blog pages we host various forms to help the reader get an idea about local installers. By filling out those forms, the user has the opportunity for the GreenAge to help connect them to a local installer, and by agreeing to the specific terms & conditions of this service, the user agrees for their information to be shared with specific partners.
Those details will not be passed onto any unauthorised third parties, and should the user have any doubt about this, then please do get in touch.
We take data protection very seriously, and at the same time we expect our third-party installer partners to abide by our strict data handling conditions when processing any queries on our behalf. Should an installer be found to be in breach of these conditions, then we reserve the right to suspend their membership and use all legal means to protect our reputation in the market place.
Costs to our website services
The cost of our services, which is to provide information about energy saving is currently free to the general user. However, since the GreenAge is a commercial entity it does have the right to offer specific energy advice services like: surveys, bespoke energy efficiency advice and other commercial services. The pricing and terms for these services should be clearly presented on the website or quoted by speaking to a member of the project team.
As mentioned (above), the installer map for example is a business to business (B2B) offer with clear terms and conditions and pricing for the offer.
Updates to our terms and conditions
We will always aim to provide you with the best energy advice and renewable technology advice we can, but our website is provided at the time of publication and we do not and cannot promise that all the information we provide will always be 100% accurate, as certain Government policies, regulations or practices are subject to change.
Whilst we take every care to ensure that all information is accurate and complete, some of the promotional content may (from time-to-time) be supplied by third-party partners. We will do our best to review third-party editorial content and screen the information for factual accuracy, but we are unable to guarantee the accuracy of such every part of that generated content. Before relying on any information, whether it is from us or from our third-party partners, we advise you to verify the accuracy of such information.
Although we will do our best to ensure that our website is fully operational in all instances, we are not responsible for any problems or temporary interruptions in using our website arising from factors outside of our control (e.g. server issues, hosting provider issues or local internet services not being able to cope with the necessary traffic) or for any problems arising from participating in or from downloading third party content.

Domestic and Commercial Surveys
We carry out domestic and commercial surveys from time to time, and the contractual obligations will be unique on all occasions. Please note: the customer will get a contractual offer before the survey is carried out, and upon acceptance those specific terms & conditions will apply.
Payments will be processed on a proforma basis. Customers to be invoiced directly. No online payments to take place.

What is the installer map?
Our installer map is a great way to find recommended local installers for loads of different energy saving solutions. From boilers to heat pumps, loft insulation to energy surveys, we have it covered! Unlike other lead generation websites, the whole point of the GreenAge map is to ensure that the installer owns the end-to-end relationship with the customer. All potential website users need to do is enter their postcode to find recommended installers near them.
We do not capture any customer data on this page, as the whole purpose of the map is for you, as the interested user, to have the direct relationship with the installation company local to you. Simply type your post into the postcode box; then select the technologies interested it; followed by the ‘click find’ button to reveal the installers.
Vetting process on the installers
It is pretty important that the person you get to do a job in your home knows exactly what they are doing! Before being placed on the map, all our installers are subject to the following:
- Installers must hold relevant accreditations and qualifications – To ensure that all our installers are experts, we always check that their accreditations are current. For example, all plumbers must be Gas Safe and all our registered electricians are accredited under the UK national standard, BS 7671 (Requirements for all Electrical Installations).
- All installers are interviewed – We speak to all future installers to check we are only recommending friendly, helpful people.
- Installers must come with references – Our installers must come recommended by previous customers – we check references before enrolling them on our local installer map.
- We continually monitor our installers – We regularly ask for feedback from customers to make sure installers are delivering.
- Installers must hold valid ID – We require recent ID to reassure customers.
- All installers must have insurance – We also ensure that all installers have valid public liability insurance.
Feedback process on the installer map and installers
The map has been created to ensure nationwide coverage of installation companies (England, Scotland and Wales). Whilst we will do our best to make sure we have nationwide coverage, we cannot guarantee blanket coverage for all the technologies. If you are struggling to locate a local installer on the map, then do not hesitate to get in touch on email@example.com and we will do our best to suggest a company for you.
- Feedback on the service – if you have feedback on this service then do let us know. You can send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your feedback, and we will do our best to take this on-board for the future.
- Feedback on the installer located on the map – we will do our best to vet the installers as mentioned above, and with the controls put in place we are confident the installers will provide an overall good quality service for you.

There is no age restriction on the website.
We appeal to you to respect the community of users on the website, and allow them a fair chance to express their views and opinions. In areas of our website where you can express yourself, i.e. the blogs and technology pages or where offer the opportunity to interact with others, we ask that you stick to what is legal, tasteful and civil.
We work hard to respect the views of our readers. We want to engage with them and hear their views, so we ask for continual participation and vigilance. Content and the nature of comments we discourage

- Do not flood or “spam” our website with spam comments, unaffiliated backlinks and unscrupulous commercial products or companies. This includes the transmission of pornography, pirated software, computer games or counterfeit goods.
- Please do not upload, post or otherwise transmit material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programmes designed to corrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the website.
- Do not collect and/or distribute personal data concerning other website members.
- Please refrain from impersonating other people on the website – family, friends, celebrities, moderators, TheGreenAge employees, TheGreenAge proprietors or other existing website users.
- The use of the website should not be as such so the individual or corporation using it is attempting to gain commercially – unless the activities has been approved by TheGreenAge Commercial Manager of the company is listed on TheGreenAge Local Installer Map.
We have the following activities that are attempted on the website from time to time – please refer to this list and refrain from carrying them out:
- Do not use multiple logins for disrupting the website or trying to post unsolicited backlinks or attempt to spam unsolicited products.
- Do not post comments or content in languages other than English.
- When setting up user accounts, do not set-up offensive or inappropriate usernames.
- Do not spam the contact forms.
- Do not spam ‘getting help with installation forms’.
We have the right to removed content sections off the website without notice and any content we consider inaccurate or inappropriate.
For spam users and usernames, we also have the right to ban, delete and prevent from using the website services in the future.
Our moderation procedure
Posts and comments to the regular techs, blogs and articles are monitored before they are published on the website. The forums are also moderated, but there is a degree of autonomy to allow the comments to be posted before moderation. Please refer to the Code of Conduct procedures above if you are unsure about the nature of the content that is allowed on the website.
If you do spot offensive contributions or ones that do not meet our Code of Conduct, then please get in touch with us on firstname.lastname@example.org to report the alleged offences. Please be detailed about the location of the alleged offences and share with us a link to the appropriate website page so that it can be located.
Note: Disagreeing with someone’s views is not a reason to report them.
