Merry Christmas from everyone here at TheGreenAge!

We would like to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas!

It has been a really exciting year here at TheGreenAge with over 1.5m users taking advantage of our resources to make their homes and businesses more energy efficient. We have also seen the launch of our EcoStore which we are happy to report is going great guns!

Our growth has been against a hugely challenging backdrop. The new Tory government seem hell-bent on removing all support for homeowners who are struggling to pay energy bills – the Green Deal has been cancelled, the FIT has seemingly had a reprieve but for how long it is hard to stay.

Looking at the bigger picture, Amber Rudd’s recent announcement that the Government want to close the coal power plants by 2025 and replace them with cleaner gas plants seems sensible except the time scales suggested are pure fantasy. Yes it is easy to close a power plant, but building a new one? It takes time!

All in all, while the Government seems to want to delay the ‘GreenAge’ – the need for energy efficiency to reduce demand is going to be vitally important for the UK to ensure we can keep the lights on. We are seeing record numbers visit our website every day, coupled with record numbers of phonecalls and so forth – clearly there is great appetite for what we are doing.

So looking forward to next year – the team is building, we will have more scope to help more people. We have some big plans in the pipeline that we are all very excited about – so make sure to stay tuned!

Have a great Christmas and here is to a successful 2016!
